A month after being in the coaching candidate pool to turn around a downtrodden franchise, Kenny Atkinson is among the targets for a team on the other end of the winning spectrum. The Warriors’ assistant is in the running for the Milwaukee Bucks’ top job, according to a report Wednesday from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.Atkinson, who has spent the last two seasons on Steve Kerr’s staff, was listed among the candidates for the Houston Rockets’ vacancy before ex-Celtics coach Ime Udoka was named to the job late last month. The Bucks fired coach Mike Budenholzer this month, just two years after he helped lead the team to a title. Some progressive Democrats like Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Ro Khanna of Santa Clara have publicly called on her ...

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A federal appointee is managing the water system in Mississippi’s capital city, and the same might soon be true for the city’s sewer system. U.S. District Court Judge Henry Wingate said at a Tuesday hearing that he plans on placing Jackson’s sewer system under the authority of Ted Henifin, who was appointed in November to address the city’s water troubles. The city agreed to enter a consent decree in 2012 with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to prevent the overflow of raw sewage and bring the city into compliance with the Clean Water Act. Reports required by the consent decree showed that 4.7 billion gallons of untreated or partially treated wastewater were dumped into the Pearl River between March 2020 and February 2022. “Every day that goes...
